Carbon from Materials & Use

How We Calculate Product Carbon Emissions

1. Embodied carbon

This includes the main materials used in the fixture (7 key components), the packaging (inner and outer), and the final assembly process. Emission factors are based on standard databases like ecoinvent and ADEME Base Carbone.

2. Operational carbon

This is based on how much energy the product uses during its lifetime. We estimate usage hours, average power output, and apply each country’s 2023 electricity emission factors to calculate the total operational impact.

Emission Progress

Compared to 2022

From 2022 to 2023, Ayrton reduced its emission intensity per revenue by 19%, proving that growth can go hand in hand with lower carbon impact.

  • Emissions from product use fell by 15%

  • Emissions from freight fell by 26%

  • Emissions from product purchases rose by 7%
